Appomattox County High School is now in the Dogwood District in Region B of the Single A division of the state. Single A means that we are now paired with the schools in the state, region, and district that have an enrollment of about 750 and less in grades 9-12. In previous years we were a Double A school competing with schools with enrollments from 720-1600. Region B is the biggest region in the state with it stretching from Dan River (near Danville) to George Mason HS (Falls Church - inside the beltway near Washington DC. It involves the Dogwood, James River, Shenandoah, and Bull Run Districts.
The Dogwood District does not honor any Teacher/Staff passes at their games. The other schools do honor the VHSCA Coaches Passes, VHSL Administrative Passes, and VIAAA Athletic Director Passes.
For Appomattox County High School home events, ACPS employees and their immediate family are allowed into athletic events at ACHS when they present their school employee badge. Family members must be with the employee when their badge is presented.
