KFC Colonel's Scholars Program is looking for high school seniors with financial need and an entrepreneurial spirit. Awards are up to $20,000 for tuition, fees, textbooks, room and board. | The National Hispanic Caucus of School Board Members |
The National Hispanic Caucus of School Board Members will offer ten scholarship awards for high school seniors eligible for graduation in May-June 2012. The scholarship awards are distributed to two students within each of the five National School Boards Association’s regions. Recipients of the scholarships will be announced in the spring of 2012. Recipients will receive scholarship awards no later than August of 2012 upon verification of graduation and enrollment. Funds must be used for tuition, room and board, books, supplies, or items that support the student’s college program. | Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund |
The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in October 2001 by the husband (Abraham) and family members of the late Janice Marie Scott to honor her legacy as a tremendous advocate for youth and a dedicated supporter of community services within the Greater Metropolitan Area of Washington, DC. Mrs. Scott was one of the 125 individuals who perished when terrorists crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund is awarded on a one-time basis in the amount of $2500.00. Postmarked deadline is March 31, 2012. Please see Ms. Whorley for an application. To be eligible to apply:
- The student must be a US Citizen
- GPA 3.0 or higher
- Attend a 4 year college or university full time within the 50 states or District of Columbia at the beginning of the fall semester of 2012
- Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community service or extra curricular activities
- Combine adjustable income of parents cannot exceed $100,000.

Two $500 scholarships will be awarded in 2012. You do not have to be pursuing a major in human resources, but an essay (not to exceed 200 words on some aspect of the Human Resources field) is required. Application deadline is April 1, 2012. |
